NHH REED PARK - URBAN PRAIRE SILO

The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) awarded the Resilient Communities Program Grant to the City of Houston to restore the urban prairie at NHH Reed and Star of Hope’s existing campus. The prairie is designed to engage the residents of the surrounding affordable housing and encourage them to take part in the community garden and other green initiatives. The silo pictured above retrofits a prefabricated kit to meet the needs of the gardeners and collect rainwater for irrigation.
